H is for Hippo

One of our esteemed non-profit partners, Project H Design, is rolling right along with their mission to get design into developing countries. In April 2008, Project H will be traveling to South Africa on a mission to deliver 50 Hippo Rollers – a water transportation system that provides 3 days worth of water, reduces potential injury, and empowers people to collect a fundamental element, water.

The best part? You have a opportunity to take part without leaving your chair. Project H Design is accepting donations to fund 50 Hippo Rollers for a group of 17 villages in the Kgautswane community of Northeast South Africa - total population 120,000.

Levels of Donation:
$100- one roller for one household
$500- five rollers for a small micro-community
$1000- ten rollers for a village

What you’ll get in return: A photograph of the roller handover ceremony, and a DVD about the community members using the rollers, following the April trip. In addition, all donations will be tax-deductible for the 2008 tax year.
