Ford Talks Sustainability With IndustryWeek

Ford logo

IndustryWeek has a telling interview with John Viera, Ford’s director of sustainable business strategies.

I’m glad to see what they’re doing from the manufacturing end of things (+1), but that’s only part of Ford’s global footprint. Not once does he mention anything about what they are doing to improve their 20th century combustible engine technology (-1), fuel alternatives (-1), or consideration for the afterlife of their automobiles (-1).

Why does Ford react to Greenhouse Gas Regulations? Why not be a proactive leader, and set them? I fear for Detroit if they don’t get their act together, environmental or otherwise.

Mr. Viera, you earned a generous -2.
